Austhorpe Primary Achieves School Games Gold Mark Award
Posted 16th July 2025
We are delighted to share that Austhorpe Primary School has been awarded the prestigious School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led initiative, delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, that recognises schools for their commitment to sport, physical activity, and competition. This award celebrates the incredible work taking place across our school to promote sport and encourage pupils to get active, compete, and lead.
This year, an impressive 1,752 young people took part in local inter-school competitions—a testament to the enthusiasm, teamwork and determination shown by our pupils. From committed competitors to the young volunteers, leaders, and officials supporting each event, we are incredibly proud of every single one of them.
Our application focused on four key areas: participation, competition, workforce, and school sports clubs. We’re thrilled that our efforts across all these areas have been recognised with the Gold award.
A huge thank you to Mr Fawcett, our Sports Leader, whose dedication and hard work have made this achievement possible.
We look forward to building on this success and hope to apply again in 2026!
